The Sovereign Continuum
Sovereignty is not a switch you flip. It is a direction. Seven stages lead from dependent to sovereign, across money, health, data, attention and energy. And the same laws apply to you, to your company and to your country, which is why they pull on each other.
Everyone invests in sovereignty
- Governments demand digital sovereignty
- Enterprises build sovereign cloud, AI and cyber resilience
- Nations secure infrastructure, data and energy
Yet individuals depend more than ever
- We rent our data
- We outsource our health
- We lease our attention
- We depend on fragile systems
- We save in money we cannot control
Connections between the scales
The three scales are not separate worlds. What a state builds can strengthen or weaken what a household can do, and a dependency in one company can travel all the way into your kitchen. Every card in the journey is mirrored at the other two scales; these are the links where one scale actively pulls on another.
Your sovereignty profile
Place yourself in each pillar, then answer the three test questions for it. The questions check your own estimate. You get a written summary with your next bricks, the connections that affect you and links into the journey. There is no total score on purpose: a strong pillar does not cover a weak one.
No personal information is stored on our server.Your answers stay in your browser. A link or report exists only if you create one.
The price of moving right
Sovereignty is not free. Every step adds control, resilience and options, and every step costs convenience and asks for effort, knowledge and responsibility. Near the end, the cost rises sharply while the gain gets small. Where you should stop depends on who you are. The white line follows the dial.
What you exchange. Click a card to see what you gain.
Sovereignty multipliers
Below the five pillars sit eight capabilities that amplify all of them. None of them is a pillar on its own, and each one makes every pillar stronger. Once your profile is set, the ones that help your weakest pillars are marked.
Sovereignty is not having no dependencies. It is having no dependency whose failure gives another actor unacceptable control over you.

How to use this page
This page is meant to be explored, not just read. If you follow these steps once, you will know where you stand and what to build next. It takes about ten minutes.
Choose your lens
Decide what you want to look at: yourself and your household, your company, or your country. Click Personal, Enterprise or State in the lane headers above the journey. Your lens turns orange everywhere, so you always know which scale is yours.
Go to the lane headersWalk through the seven stages
Drag the orange knob of the dial on the left, click a stage name, or simply scroll. Each stage shows all five pillars at all three scales. Read one row from left to right: it is the same law at three sizes. Tick Spotlight under the dial if you want to see only one stage at a time.
Start at stage 1Open a card for the deep dive
Hover a card to see how it connects to the other scales. Click it and a panel opens with the same stage at all three scales, the connections to other scales and the full seven-stage path of that pillar.
Explore the connections
Use the Connections chips in the toolbar: Mirror, Reinforces, Tension or Cascade. Nothing disappears; the involved cards are highlighted and a short note explains what you see. The section Connections between the scales lists every link in words.
Read the connectionsBuild your profile
In Your sovereignty profile, click the brick that describes you in each pillar, then answer the three questions below it. The questions check your own estimate. From then on the journey marks You are here, Next brick and Done on your cards.
Build my profileRead your summary and take your report
Below the profile you get a written summary: your strongest and weakest pillar, where your answers disagree with your estimate, your next three bricks, the connections that affect you and the multipliers that help. Open my report gives you a clean page to print or save as PDF; Download report saves it as a file.
Weigh the cost
More sovereignty costs convenience and effort. The trade-off chart shows where the sweet spot is for a household, a company, a hospital or a state. Not every pillar needs stage 7.
